What We Do In This Class
In Ms. Amy’s class, kindergarten and first grade students will engage in a curriculum that compliments but does not duplicate their home-based learning.
Ms. Amy will use theme-based units to engage children across a variety of subjects, including literature, nature study, math enrichment, dramatic play, and social-emotional learning.
At our facility, kindergartners and first graders have access to a gated playground and a garden adjacent to their fully-outfitted early childhood education classrooms. They will have an additional recess during their morning block.

Theme: Oceans
Standards: K.L1U1.6 Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about how organisms use different body parts for survival.
K.L1U1.7 Observe, ask questions, and explain how specialized structures found on a variety of plants and animals (including humans) help them sense and respond to their environment.
