Where curiosity
meets community.

PATH Collective is a secular, progressive enrichment program for homeschool families in the East Valley — built on high-quality academics and enrichment, exceptional teachers, and a deep belief that every child belongs here.

When you put extraordinary teachers, curious children, and committed families in the same room, Friday becomes the best day of the week.
PATH was founded by two homeschooling mothers who spent years finding the best educators in the East Valley — and then built a place worthy of them.

01 — Our Foundation
Safety first, always
Our foundation

Safety first.

Our own children attend PATH, providing us with the strongest accountability structure we can imagine. Every teacher is fingerprint-cleared and background-checked. Our directors are present and moving through classrooms all day, every Friday. We know every child by name. Every decision we make is rooted in providing the safest possible environment for all of our children.

02 — Our Investment
Exceptional teachers
Our investment

We invest in extraordinary teachers.

The relationship between a child and a great teacher is one of the most powerful forces in education. We have spent years finding the best extracurricular educators in the East Valley — people who genuinely love their subject, know how to share that love with children, and understand that how you make a child feel in your classroom shapes how they feel about learning for years afterward. We pay our teachers generously, because we are entrusting them with something irreplaceable.

03 — Our Standard
Rigor is a form of respect
Our standard

We hold high academic standards.

We are curriculum junkies. As veteran homeschoolers ourselves, we seek out the most rigorous, time-tested, and evidence-based programs for use at PATH. We pay for expert professional opinions on the best way to provide once-weekly enrichment education. We hold high expectations because we believe deeply in what children are capable of when given excellent instruction. We are on a constant quest for deep student engagement. Small class sizes and a co-teaching model in many classrooms means every student gets the attention they deserve.

04 — Our Community
We are all still learning
Our community

We are all still learning.

PATH is for the whole family. We believe that homeschooling families benefit from learning alongside one another: sharing what works, sitting with hard questions, and supporting one another to excel at one of the most difficult jobs there is. We create space for that conversation through parent education workshops, service opportunities, and regular invitations to be involved in our community.

05 — Our Purpose
Belonging to something larger
Our purpose

We belong to something larger than ourselves.

Service is not an add-on at PATH — it is woven into who we are. We are a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit — and it is a statement: this program belongs to the community, not to any individual family or founder. We teach children what it means to contribute, to show up for others, and to take responsibility for their education. Civic participation, generosity, and accountability are values we return to, week after week, together.

06 — Our Inclusion
Every brain belongs
Our inclusion

Different minds make us stronger.

A significant portion of our community is neurodivergent — and we would not have it any other way. Homeschooling families often choose this path precisely because traditional settings have failed their children. PATH is designed with that reality in mind. Our teachers are selected in part for their ability to differentiate, adapt, and genuinely connect with learners who need a flexible, individualized approach. We find that striving to be the best we can for our neurodivergent learners makes us better educators for all of our students.

07 — Our Values
Proudly progressive
Our values

We are proudly progressive.

PATH is a secular, progressive community. We neither require nor expect ideological sameness from our families — but we are building something intentional. We welcome everyone through our doors, because we know that exposure to a diversity of people and viewpoints is a critical component of our children's educations. We believe that accessible, high-quality education is not a luxury but a democratic necessity, and that building an inclusive, service-oriented community is one of the most important things we can do for our children and the world they are inheriting.

What that looks like in practice: our science curriculum is grounded in science. Our history is taught honestly and without omission. We prioritize critical thinking over conclusions, and we trust our students to wrestle with ideas. We teach that every person has equal worth and deserves to be treated with dignity — and we model that in how we run our community every single day.

What it doesn't look like: political indoctrination, ideological pressure, or any attempt to shape what your child believes about faith, politics, gender, or family. Those conversations belong at home. Our job is to give your child the academic foundation and the intellectual habits to engage thoughtfully with a complex world — whatever values they bring with them.

Families from across the political and religious spectrum are part of our community. They co-exist here peacefully, and we think that makes our kids smarter.

The People Behind PATH

Meet Our Founders

We couldn't find exactly what we were looking for.
So we built it — for our kids, and for yours.

Kaitlyn Redfield-Ortiz

Kaitlyn Redfield-Ortiz

Co-Founder

Kaitlyn is a homeschooling mother of three who began homeschooling during the pandemic and quickly realized her heart was at home with her kids. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame and from ASU's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, and practiced law for ten years before homeschooling full-time. Before law school, she taught second grade for three years with Teach for America. For the past four years she has organized homeschool gatherings and field trips and led her daughters' Girl Scout troop. The friendships the homeschooling community has provided to her family are among her greatest blessings.

Brooke Bentley

Brooke Bentley

Co-Founder

Brooke is a mother of four with a passion for helping children thrive in learning environments tailored to their individual needs. She earned her degree in Psychology from Northern Arizona University. When one of her own children struggled in a traditional school setting, Brooke began homeschooling and discovered firsthand that education is not "one size fits all." This pivotal moment ignited her commitment to alternative and personalized education. As a co-founder of PATH, Brooke is passionate about fostering learning environments where every child feels seen, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential.

From PATH Families

What Parents Are Saying

I love finding curriculum, and I'm particular about what I teach. I thought I was looking for a needle in a haystack. There didn't seem to be any co-ops where I continued to be the main teacher of academics. At the same time, I couldn't solve the missing puzzle piece of social interaction. Enter PATH! It has been a big part of the missing puzzle for us! My kids are able to do the “extra” curricular classes that they miss out on at school such as robotics, Battle of the Books, and P.E., and they have weekly friendships that are consistent throughout an entire year.

— Leilani, PATH parent

We have been with PATH for two school years now and my kids have absolutely loved it. We love that there are some options for different classes and that we can balance some academics with fun. We have also enjoyed field trips and community service opportunities organized by the administrators of the school. It has been the perfect addition to round out our homeschool.

— Lauren, PATH parent

This co-op has been so helpful for my kids. Even my introvert has made new friends, and both kids have gained new skills and interests. I love that there are multiple enrichment classes that I then don't have to find separately myself.

— Valerie, PATH parent

We had a wonderful experience with PATH Collective this year! This was our daughter's first year participating and her second year homeschooling, and it exceeded our expectations. She looked forward to every day and came home excited and confident in what she was learning. The teachers are incredibly supportive and truly care about each child. PATH Collective has been such a valuable part of our homeschool journey, and we're so grateful for the role it's played in helping her grow both academically and socially. We're already looking forward to next year!
