Our 3.5 hour program for 4th graders targets one-third of the Arizona science education standards, but all grades are welcome.  Each tour stop includes activities, presentations, and thought-provoking questions.

Urban Obstacle Course (25 mins)

– Learn what birds and other wildlife have to navigate through in our cities.

– Learn ways that we can help urban wildlife

 

Wildlife Demonstration Gardens Scavenger Hunt (25 mins)

– Find and learn about the organisms as you walk the pond and wildlife garden

– Learn about the importance of endangered riparian habitat

– Compare riparian and desert communities

– Learn how urban landscapes can benefit animals

 

CNUW Nature Center (25 mins)

– What is biodiversity?

– Understand biodiversity from genes to species to ecosystem level

– Why should we care about biodiversity?

– What happens when we lose species?

– Tour the live animal collection and learn about your desert neighbors
